A year ago, Donald Trump’s administration announced plans to cut nearly $1 trillion from the Department of Health and Human Services and redirect $1.3 trillion from Medicare to a new agency.
The Trump administration’s $1 billion in cuts are estimated to save $100 billion over a decade.
Trump’s cuts would have eliminated the Department’s funding for more than 2,500 medical centers.
But the administration’s budget office has released a more comprehensive estimate of the cuts and said they would save $500 billion over 10 years.
